Productivity tip # 2: make lists!

After last weeks tip about productivity (recap, don't use calanders) I wanted to follow up with another big one. Its sort of my big personal secret...

It's "making lists"!!!

How else are you going to remember what you have to do? I used to think of something I wanted to do but I kept forgetting all of my good ides. Then I started making lists and i have done everything i have ever thought of sense then!

I am going to make an example list for you to see how it gets done. This is general of course, and you should customize to fit your own task.

You can do a general day list and see how it makes your day go by so much faster
  • Wake up
  • Eat breakfast
  • Take a shower
  • Watch  30 minutes of TV
Or you can make a longer goal list like this sample of mine
  • finish video game walkthrough video series
  • cook a chicken from scratch
  • make sugar cookies
  • write a blog post about lists
Some of those weren't on my list, but I put them for example.

I recommend keeping lists in at least 2 places: your refrigerator and your pocket. If you keep one on your reridgerator, you will always have it handy when you are cooking or reading the Sunday comics. But in your pocket is good for traveling. I sometimes for get to bring one in my pocket, but when I do I never forget it.
