I have been occupied from my visit to Los ANgeles, Hollywood that I haven't had as much time to do some big writing like I planned. So I have spent the last few days coming up with titles and basic genres for some new movie scripts I am going to write this summer! Summer is a good time to write (and sometimes spring) because especially on those stormy days you can get some good atmosphere of inspiration by staring out the window!
I am going to share my favorite ten ideas with you but just remember that these are my ideas and you should not attempt to take them and make scripts yourself because this is a resource for you to follow not to steal from. If you are having trouble coming up with your own ideas in needing to steel I would recommend you turn off the tv and stare at a page to really force some creativity to come.
Okay here they are! If you like them enough maybe I will post a few more, I am not sure if that is a good idea at this stage of my process of writing.
- HOME VIDEO TERROR - A guy is making videos with his home video camera when he edits it later realizes there is a sinister act happening in the background that he then tries to uncover and get the police involved. This would use be almost like a detective thing probably.
- CAROLINA PALMETTOS - A nice story of friendship between two friends that meet each other as kids and grow up to have families far apart. It ends with a dinner conversation with the two of them after they are very old and one of them dies eating soup. It is supposed to be more of a tearjerker for the female audience.
- LOONY MOM (series) - This is planned as a horror/mystery trilogy at the moment although I may extend it to be four parts and stretch the trilogy format again like I have done in the past. Some friends get caught up in the hunt for there parents to find one of there moms is crazy and she traps them in various houses and tries to kill them. The loony mom character would be like those bigger old villains from horror movies like Jason or FReddy Cougar or swampthing. I can't give away the ending yet.
- 15 MINUTES - A guy has a timer for 15 minutes that is all he has the time for before his mom (or friend or wife or something, that is not sure yet) is hurt by a villain. As time ticks and tocks he has to hurry. The twist is that he is able to slow down time to get his stuff done and he saves them.
- CHAT WIDOW - A haunted movie about an old woman who is constantly logged into video chats calling people and scaring them (short)
- PEOPLE IN THE TV - A guy is watching tv and changing channels when he realizes all the actors and costumes look the same in everything. He goes up to his TV and realizes that inside it are a group of people trapped and being slaved to perform all the television for him. He has to work with the people in the tv and solve riddles to free them!
- WRITTEN IN THE CLOUDS - A writer realizes that everything he writes becomes the truth and he starts to change the world literally with hhis words. The problem comes when a gangster forces him to write bad things and that ruins his life until he writes in a way to escape from his gangster trappers. I am pretty excited about this one! I haven't seen anything like it!
- THE BLOGGER - A simple guy who writes on his blog suddenly gets contacted by a mean bully who tries to ruin his life. This would be sort of an arty thriller movie with a lot of chase sequences between the characters.
- SMILES - I may make this a short one and it may not be a script but I am including it in this list anyway. I would basically go get video of hundreds of people smiling and then flash them back and forth to create a very artsy visual poem about smiles and how they can make you happy by themself.
- FELINE FLIGHT - In the style of AIR BUD and MILEO AND OTIS, a talking cat movie that would be a comedy and focus on a pilot cat! This one is more for kids.
Now do you get the title of my post? It is a play on the idea of brainstorming and the fact that I am looking forward to the spring and summer storms that are coming thru!!! Let me know what you think of my script ideas!!!
